Billie Payton-Settles,  writer, editor, and teacher, has spent much of her life in California. She currently resides in Sonoma County and has used her knowledge of the North Bay Area to bring her mysteries to life in a unique way.

 

Accidental Target, the first of a two-book thriller series set in San Rafael, California, was published by Level Best Books in February, 2021. The second book in that series, Intentional Harm, was published in 2022. Stone Cold Dead, a stand-alone paranormal mystery set in Petaluma, was published in 2024. Payton-Settles has blended local descriptions, tense mystery, and humor in all of her stories.

A new paranormal mystery, a sequel to The Something In the Attic, will be published by Indies United in November, 2024.
